Dominoes
Anybody ever played a game of dominoes? The first time I remember seeing said game was when I was in inpatient treatment for the first time and all the cool kids were playing it. So therefore it meant that I was not. And I was not about to ask someone how to play it for fear of looking like a total idiot because I don't know what I'm doing. Now many years later, I have finally and at last allowed myself to learn, to not know and to ask questions. Because why not? Why are we always worried about what other people will think? Why not just do and see what happens? What are we so afraid of?
My husband knows how to play and he goes over to a guy friends house occasionally for a "boys night" to play dominoes, which I think is pretty cool. The other day, he took the kids shopping and brought home a set of dominoes. I believe his intention was to start trying to play with our boys but their attention span is like a gnat, plus they are still a little young for it. So then what happened? We suggested to each other that we play with each other and he teach me how to play! What about that!
In a past life, no way jose was I going to let my husband (or anyone) teach me anything (how embarrassing) but I think I'm finally to a point in life where it's like why on Earth not? He's been teaching me at the gym and now he teaches me how to play a game that we get to do together. So we then got to play a few games of dominoes, having our time together (with baby girl on my boob and our middle boy trying to play/wreck the game with us...this is our life haha).
But it was really cool. REALLY cool. Finding something to do with each other, other than sitting next to each other and scrolling on our phones. What do your hobbies look like? What kinds of games to you like to play?
